Who Are We?

The DASH Alumni Association exists to foster a strong sense of community among graduates of Design & Architecture Senior High, a renowned magnet secondary school founded in 1990 by former principal Jacqueline Hinchey-Sipes. Under her leadership, DASH adopted the motto “Education by Design” and quickly established itself as one of Florida’s top public high schools.

Over the years, DASH has consistently achieved exceptional academic results, earning high marks on the FCAT exam and receiving an assessment grade of A from the state. The school’s innovative curriculum and focus on design and architecture have attracted national attention, with features in Dwell, Teen People magazine, and the Miami Herald. Newsweek ranked DASH as the 5th best public high school in the US for 2010, and U.S. News World & Report ranked it among the top high schools in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and the nation.

The DASH Alumni Association aims to promote social interaction, networking, and lifelong friendships among alumni, strengthen alumni’s connection to DASH and its traditions, and support the school’s continued success. We will offer mentorship programs, career workshops, networking opportunities, volunteer projects, community outreach initiatives, alumni giving campaigns, reunions, social events, and work to preserve DASH’s history.

By pursuing these activities, the DASH Alumni Association can create a vibrant and engaging community for its members while also honoring the legacy of a truly exceptional school.
